 SAMBA Folders

The best folder contains all music files that are the highest bitrate as compared to the dual encoded media.  The audio server has the ability to create and store two versions of each music file so that through a home system the higher bitrate is played and when streamed to a computer the lower bitrate version is played ensuring seamless playback.

This folder is read-only as the server designates which files display in this folder.  To view media in this folder, open the best folder and navigate to the unique hexadecimal folder. In this folder your will see all your music organized by on this hierarchy: Artist->Album->Songs. Select any folders or files then copy and paste them to your desired location on your computer.
The MP3s folder contains all music files including the original bitrate and dual encoded media.

This folder is read-only as any new media is added through the upload folder or the server CD-ROM.  To view media in this folder, open the MP3s folder and navigate to the unique hexadecimal folder. In this folder your will see all your music organized by on this hierarchy: Artist->Album->Songs. Select any folders or files then copy and paste them to your desired location on your computer.
The Pictures folder contains picture files in JPG, BMP, PNG or GIF format. It is recommended to use BMP and PNG images as they are the best quality format.  For best results it is recommended to resize images to fit within 640x480 pixels. If the image is wider than 640 pixels, or taller than 480 pixels, they will be scaled down on the fly, but it will take processing time.

These pictures are used for either the screen saver or the the slide show that is available on the F.Series, IMS and IMC.  This folder it writable and pictures can be dropped directly into the folder.
The stream folder contains all music files that are the lowest bitrate as compared to the original encoded media.  The audio server has the ability to create and store two versions of each music file so that through a home system the higher bitrate is played and when streamed to a computer the lower bitrate version is played ensuring seamless playback.

This folder is read-only as the server designates which files display in this folder.  To view media in this folder, open the stream folder and navigate to the unique hexadecimal folder. In this folder your will see all your music organized by this hierarchy: Artist->Album->Songs. Select any folders or files then copy and paste them to your desired location on your computer.
The Upload folder is used to load new music onto the audio server.  Any files that are MP3, FLAC or WAV will be loaded into the system and will appear in the MP3s folder and disappear from the Upload folder once processed.  Do not load more than 1GB of music at a time.
