ReQuest, Inc. is seeking a talented computer systems platform engineer. The qualified candidate will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, packaging and patching the operating environments for ReQuest products. These premium products delivery superior quality audio and video experiences to over 10,000 active systems across the world. You will also be responsible for contributing to future design decisions including OS selection, process priority, decoders, motherboards and drivers for new products. In addition, the candidate will also have experience with systems using virtualization technology (for example VirtualBox or VMWare) on an exciting new product. If you have experience with virtual machines on Linux and Windows, you may be just who we are looking for! This is a permanent, full-time position and the individual will work on-site. Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and deployment of Debian Linux packages
- Maintenance and deployment of Windows XP Embedded packages
- Design and deployment of virtualized platform merging Linux and Windows products
Education:
- 4 year degree in Computer Science or related field, or related professional experience
Required Skills:
- Linux platform administration including kernel compile, audio/video drivers, package deployment
- System tuning for optimal performance
- Windows platform experience with patch delivery and audio/video drivers
- Server administration experience on uptime with watchdog, process monitoring, and heath monitoring
Desired Skills:
- Professional experience with virtualized environments in a production environment
- Experience with Windows XP Embedded or Windows Embedded Standard<
- Programming experience in C, C++, or Python is a plus
ReQuest, Inc. is seeking a talented web application engineer for a full-time, permanent position with experience in web technologies and frameworks that provide a rich, desktop-like application. The successful candidate will have experience developing applications that interface with a backend database and use technologies such as drag-and-drop, multi-select, and Ajax.
You will be responsible for retooling/reskinning an existing web application based on HTML forms and page refreshes into a rich, colorful and well-performing user experience. The database structure is firm and the existing application is 100% functional as a basis for porting into new, updated technologies. A portfolio with screenshots of web applications where you were primary engineer on the front-end development is required.
Server administration experience is not required. Experience with advanced programming languages is a plus, but not required. If you have created beautiful web applications that take HTML forms to the next level, you should apply. We would ideally prefer candidates in search of a permanent, full-time position, but would also consider contract-based employment for the initial project. No recruiters or off-shore software firms, please.
Education:
- BS in Computer Science or related field with relevant experience
